Join UKALTA

UKALTA offers individuals either Full or Associate membership depending on their circumstances. Individual membership is free of charge.

Full membership is open to all individuals who:

  • are working, studying or living in the UK, or able to show strong connections with the UK
  • AND have an interest in language testing and/or assessment.

Full members have right to attend and vote in the Annual General Meeting and stand for election to any position for which UKALTA holds elections.

Associate membership of UKALTA is open to individuals who:

  • have an interest and preferably an involvement in language testing and/or assessment.

Associate members have the right to attend the Annual General Meeting, but they cannot vote in the AGM, or stand for election to any position for which UKALTA holds elections.

Please submit your application here. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the Membership & Nominations Committee. After you have become a member , you can manage and update your account information.

The original UKALTA Constitution was adopted in November 2016, setting out the aims, objective, affiliations, and membership guidelines of the organisation, and giving details of the activities and responsibilities of committee members. The UKALTA Constitution was updated at the AGMs in December 2021 and November 2023.
